In the turbulent landscape of 1915 Czarist Russia, the enigmatic Grigory Rasputin's mystic presence captivated the attention of the formidable siblings, Ivan and Elena. Ivan, a figure rooted in the complexities of his homeland, found himself entangled in a web of mysticism and ambition alongside his sister, Elena, a Romani Mutant hailing from the distant lands of Siberia, possessing remarkable powers that intrigued both Rasputin and Mister Sinister.[1]
Rasputin, already celebrated for his extraordinary abilities, was drawn to the unique gifts displayed by the siblings. Simultaneously, Sinister perceived in Elena the potential to unlock the mysteries of mutant genetics. The initial encounter resulted in a clash, but it ultimately paved the way for a shared mission between Rasputin and Sinister—to forge a generation of superhumans by exploring the potential of breeding fully active mutants. Despite initial resistance from Rasputin, the collaboration unfolded with a controversial plan involving Rasputin's genetic material and clandestine unions. This plan took a significant turn when Rasputin, unexpectedly, seduced Ivan's sister Elena, leading to the birth of an illegitimate child, Grigory.[1]
Ivan, fueled by a deep-seated disgust over Rasputin's influence and the mistreatment of his sister, sought allies to eliminate the perceived threat. The Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich and Prince Felix Yusupov joined forces with Ivan in a covert plot to kill Rasputin. Miraculously revived from a near-death experience, Rasputin urgently sought Sinister's help. A mystic ritual unfolded, involving Rasputin's brides—mothers of his unborn children. Sacrificing his corporeal form, Rasputin split his consciousness among the unborn children, sealing his fate.
In a twist of fate, Elena, seemingly fueled by fury, attacked Ivan with her powers, an act witnessed by Mister Sinister who believed it to be an act of fratricide. Decades later, the truth surfaced when Sinister visited Elena on her deathbed. She had let her brother live, dispelling the illusion of revenge that Sinister had believed to be the motive behind the apparent fratricidal act.[2]See Also
