Synopsis for "Sacred Invasion (Part 1) - The God Squad"

One month earlier, in Greenwich Village, a man visited Urania, who was a fortuneteller who was frightened when she saw that he was a Skrull before running in front of a taxi and seeing Skrulls stand above her. Later, Athena attempted to warn the Council Elite of the Skrulls, as she held one's head and briefed her fellow gods, suggesting that Hercules, accompanied by Amadeus Cho, should lead their legions to kill the Skrulls' gods. Hodiak and the Gods of the North nominated Snowbird to join Hercules. Earlier, Snowbird defeated Michael Pointer after he asked her to join Omega Flight. Then, Hodiak summoned her.

Hercules vented to Amadeus about Athena nominating him to lead the legions and revealed that he was never the leader of the Argonauts or the Avengers. Hercules recalled when he went to Iolkos in 1289 B.C. with the Argonauts. When Hercules insisted that Amadeus run, the Korean offered to not get killed while the Olympian did his "god-thing" while they would save the world. Meanwhile, the Gods of the South nominated Ajak to join Hercules. Three days earlier, on Lombard Street, San Francisco, Tezcatlipoca recruited Ajak in their war against the Skrulls.

As Amadeus returned with Hercules to his fellow gods, Izanagi-no-Mikoto nominated Amatasu-Mikaboshi to join the Olympian. Hercules disapproved and attacked Amatsu-Mikaboshi, as Ajak and Snowbird both attempted to break them up, but only led to a fight between all of them before it was finally broken up by Atum. Amadeus referred to them as the "God Squad" before Altjira provided them with transportation that the human referred to as the "Godmobile." Athena was disappointed that only five gods would join the "legions" and briefly argued with Kwaku Anansi before the God Squad, led by Hercules, departed in the Godmobile.

As the Godmobile flew past Skrull ships, Athena told them that Urania prophesied that all their efforts will fail unless the God Squad helped Hercules when he was at his weakest, although Amadeus did not know what she meant.
