HistoryEdit

Illyana was the sister of Piotr Rasputin. She lived with her brother and her parents on a collective farm in the Soviet Union. When she was young, she was nearly run over by a tractor while playing with a doll in the fields, and was saved by her brother, using his mutant powers. However, since Piotr had destroyed the tractor, which was government property, he left his home (and his sister) so as not to draw the government's anger onto his family.^[1]

Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, some radical generals attempted to stage a coup and reform the empire. Soldiers attacked the farm, taking the residents captive. Illyana hid when the soldiers came, and waited in the ruins of te farm until Piotr arrived, along with the X-Man Jubilee. Illyana led them to the compound where the people had been taken, but she was captured by Omega Red and then rescued by Wolverine. When Jubilee rescued the farmers, Illyana was reunited with her parents. Following the defeat of Omega Red and the generals, Illyana and her brother helped to rebuild their farm.^[1]

Illyana appeared in one of Cable's visions of the altered timestream in which, without the antibodies developed to fight Apocalypse's techno-organic virus, many mutants, like Illyana, developed harmful mutations which killed them.^[2]

Powers and AbilitiesEdit

Powers

Unknown. During the events of the series she demonstrated no powers, although her appearance in Cable's visions does confirm that she is a mutant. It is possible that she may have the powers of Illyana Rasputina (Earth-616)#Powers.

• In the 1992 animated television series X-Men: The Animated Series, Illyana appeared the episode "Red Dawn", voiced by Tara Strong.
