History
Hvergelmir which translates as "bubbling boiling spring", is the wellspring of cold in Niffleheim. It is believed that all cold rivers are said to flow from here, and is the source of the eleven rivers. Above the spring, the serpent Nidhogg gnaws on one of the roots of Yggdrasil, the World Tree.
