History
Handsaw was one of four people who were bionically altered by the criminal scientist Karl Malus to act as his minions the original Power Tools. Malus sent them to capture Madcap, so Malus could study his powers. However, they were caught on camera during the abduction by Dollar Bill.
Dollar Bill approached the hero Hawkeye for help, and Hawkeye clashed with the four of them. Hawkeye rescued Madcap and exposed Malus' involvement, upon which Malus set his headquarters to self-destruct and abandoned the Power Tools, including Handsaw. Malus later employed a different team of mercenaries calling themselves the Power Tools.[citation needed]Attributes
