Xavier Protocols
The Xavier Protocols are a set of doomsday plans in the Marvel Universe. They contain details on how the best way to kill each of the X-Men and other powerful mutants if they should lose control of their powers. Charles Xavier wrote them, and the list even included how to defeat himself.
First mentions
The Xavier Protocols were first mentioned during the Onslaught Saga and first seen in Excalibur #100 in Moira MacTaggert's lab. Charles Xavier had compiled a list of the Earth's most powerful mutants and plans on how to defeat them if they were to become a threat to the world. They were first used after Onslaught grew too powerful. Only parts of the actual Protocols were ever shown, detailing how to stop Wolverine, Cable, and Xavier. Later on, during Operation: Zero Tolerance, Bastion gets hold of the protocols in X-Men (vol. 2) #65, and uses an army of Prime Sentinels to take down Cannonball, Storm, Jean Grey, Wolverine and Cyclops.
Details As revealed in Excalibur #100 (each Protocol is activated by the presence of a different combination of X-Men):
- Code 0-0-0 (Charles Xavier) : The use of anti-psionic armor against him, and how to build it. (Activated by Moira MacTaggert, Cyclops and Jean Grey)
- Code 0-2-1 (Wolverine) : Long range attack, sever the head, and place the head and body far apart. (Activated by Archangel, Cyclops and Jean Grey) Note: This assumes Wolverine is without his adamantium skeleton.
- Code 1-3-9 (Cable) : Take advantage of the techno-organic virus that occupies his telekinesis powers, and letting the virus infect major organs. (Activated by Cyclops, Jean Grey and Cannonball)
Note: After the purge of the virus from Cable's body, this particular strategy no longer applies.
