HistoryEdit

Gert Hauptmann was a scientist who designed weapons for Doctor Doom. Doom killed his brother Gustav and treated him poorly, which caused Hauptmann to secretly plot against Doom or assist Doom's enemies.^[1][2] For his final project, Doom employed Hauptmann to build a device that would transfer the Silver Surfer's power cosmic into a human form.^[3] Hauptmann completes the project and invites Doom to step in the machine. Aware of Hauptmann's previous treachery, Doom throws Hauptmann in the machine and activates it, killing Hauptmann. Doom surmises that had the process actually been viable, Hauptmann would have used the machine on himself.
