The early life and origin of the villain known as Foxbat remains unclear. He was an original recruit of the Riders of the Storm, but was later hunted by the group as he was deemed unfit to remain a member. He was captured and his lifeforce was drained so that it could be absorbed by the team's new leader, Genesis, but when Genesis was confronted by the hero Cable and his allies, the base that Foxbat's body was in exploded.
Foxbat had powers that granted him enhanced strength, speed, and reflexes as well as the ability to see in the dark and to use his fangs and claws as weapons.
