History
Fort Ironsides was operated by the United States Army during the Mexican–American War (1846-1848). It was under the command of Captain Frosby during this period. It was also the frequent home of scout Billy Buckskin and his sidekick Soapy as well as Captain Frosby's daughter Sally[1].
The Fort was regularly attacked by Mexican soldiers, renegade Native Americans, and outlaws, among other threats.
