History

Russell (full name unknown) was a working-class father of a family of five during the 70's/80's. Although he struggled to succeed in the public sector with his engineering skills, Russell managed to create, in his spare time, a suit of powered armor. Dubbing the armor "Flatiron," Russell hoped to become a superpowered crime fighter.

Later, Flatiron appeared as a member of the First Line during the 1980's, although the circumstances of his recruitment remain unrevealed. Flatiron was among the members of the First Line in its final mission, defending Earth against an invasion by the alien Skrulls. He was killed during the battle.
