Synopsis for "The Tale of the Mighty Thor...and the Man Called Torrent"
The elder continues telling the tale to the two young boys. Without his mortal guise, Thor works with the Warriors Three to deal with the Troll invasion in Asgard. Thor voices his concern over matters left unresolved on Midgard (Earth). Meanwhile, the Weather-Maker uses the power of the Godstorm to wreak havoc over New York City, now calling himself "Torrent." The empowered man accuses the people of ignoring his power and threatens to punish them, first by making short work of the police.
Loki watches the destruction and recognizes the Godstorm. Loki warns Odin about the Godstorm threat and tells him to send Thor back to Midgard to take care of the problem that he created before the parley. Odin lets Thor return, but threatens to take away the title of crown prince and give it to Loki if he does not return in time.
Loki tells King Geirrodur of the Rock Trolls that he has decoyed Thor away from Asgard so that they can take it over. The king suspects that Loki is only working to gain the throne of Asgard, but figures that they both have similar desires that can work together. Don Blake tells Jane Foster to locate the Weather-Maker's hostage from the previous day.
Thor finds Torrent terrorizing the city of New York. Torrent throws a tanker truck at Thor, but Thor breaks it with his hammer. Thor throws his hammer at a fire hydrant, sending Torrent into the air. Jane finds the former hostage, Maureen Scanlan in her apartment, in tears over the Torrent's destruction. She says Torrent is actually the weatherman at her father's station, Jared Carstairs. The man asked Maureen out on a date, but she turned him down flat. Carstairs kept on asking Scanlan on dates until she finally gave him a chance. The date did not turn out well, but Carstairs kept on stalking Maureen until he got fired and subsequently took up the Weather-Maker identity.
Thor tries to control the Godstorm, but the storm resists. The floating figure of Loki taunts Thor and reveals his plan to the throne of Asgard once the troll take over the land. Maureen tells Torrent to stop and turns down his offer for them to rule together. Thor uses the distraction to create a vortex with his hammer, sending Torrent to the heart of the Trolls' fortification. After dealing with the Troll King, Odin sends Jared Carstairs back to Earth stripped of his power for the mortal authorities to deal with.
The elder ends his second tale concerning the Godstorm. Wilf and Uller's friends beckon the two boys to practice sword-fighting with them, but they refuse in favor of listening to the elder's third tale.

Synopsis for "The Tale of the Mighty Thor and the Long Imprisoned Storm"
The elder reads from the Talestone to tell his third tale concerning the Godstorm. On a Norwegian oil drill, Brom leaves work to meet his sister Bettina, who is traveling on the boat, Spirit of Norway, with her friend, Jake Olson. As soon as he is out of sight, Jake Olson transforms into Thor. Brom and Bettina eat at a local diner and discuss their parents. Brom says his father disapproves of his work on the rig.
Meanwhile, the men at the rig continue drilling, feeling they might hit something "big" this time. Wilf and Uller deduce that the men will unleash the Godstorm and barrage the elder with questions. The elder says that he needs his rest and promises he will start again the next day.
