History

Events from Earth-98 followed the same history as Earth-616 until Gwen Stacy died in 1973, after which, history diverged and followed a different path. The heroes aged in real-time. The Fantastic Four was founded in 1961, and was in its fourth or fifth incarnation in 1998, with the son and daughter of the Human Torch and Crystal serving on the team alongside their parents. The Avengers line-up included Thor, Doctor Strange, and Wolverine.

Ben Grimm of Earth-616 was accidently launched into this dimension by Reed Richards particle alternator.
