Setting some 406 hundred years in the past, Earth took a dramatic turn in both politics and science as the age of Marvels appeared much earlier and the current era resemble very much to the modern day. But only with the exception of certainties such as 16th/17th century era warfare intermixed with modern day warfare, which includes sword-fencing commandos and wooden galleons, due to a treaty between humanity and the Atlanteans, who forbade any technological advancements in warfare.

In this world, the British and French empires are the dominate world powers. Both empires were on the brink of a world war, as France boldly attempted to defeat its imperial rival with its own superhumans until the Exiles interfered and neutralized the conflict.
