History

Emperor Dorrek I ruled the Skrulls in the early days of their empire, shortly after they had achieved interstellar travel, and he was the Skrull ruler who began to expand his race's influence by seeking new worlds beyond their own.[2] The Skrulls were not yet a military civilization, but prospered through interstellar trade, and Dorrek led the mission that made first contact with the Kree. When the Skrulls arrived on Hala, the Kree were still in the barbarian stage of development. Emperor Dorrek addressed both the Kree and the Cotati plant people, offering them a contest to prove which species were worthy of the Skrulls' patronage.

Dorrek transported the Kree to the moon of Earth, where they spent the next year building an elaborate city. Dorrek and the Skrulls ultimately approved more of the Cotati's offering, a vast garden created on another, otherwise lifeless moon. The furious Kree killed Dorrek and his men, taking the Skrulls' ship and technology for themselves. After reverse-engineering the technology for themselves, the Kree struck out at the Skrulls, beginning their endless war.[3]

Attributes

Powers

Skrull Shape-Shifting: Like other Skrulls, Dorrek VII is a shape-shifter. They can mentally cause the unstable molecules that comprise his or her body to become pliant, enabling him or her to assume other forms through muscular expansion and contraction. Once a new shape has been assumed, it takes a conscious act of will to assume another form or revert to natural. Hence, Skrulls do not spontaneously lose their assumed form when asleep or unconscious. Skrulls in altered form will, however, revert to their original forms at the moment of death.

Weaknesses

Shape-Shifting Limitations: Skrulls only take on the appearance of an object or person and none of that object or person’s characteristics. There is a limit to the size of the object or person a Skrull can imitate. The average Skrull cannot distend his or her mass any more than 1.5 times as large a volume as his or her original volume, nor can he or she contract his or her mass any more than 0.75 a volume as his or her original.
