History

Doctor Suki was a Imperial Japanese spy who was active during World War II. Having immigrated to the United States prior to America's entry into the war, he and his minions anticipated that once America entered the war, individuals of Japanese origin would be placed in internment camps. Deducing the most logical location of such a camp in his area, they constructed a series of secret tunnels to locations of strategic importance (such as oil fields and munitions production plants).

Sure enough, Suki's deductions came true, and by the fall of 1943, he and his minions were placed into just such a camp which was located near their tunnel system. At night, Suki and his accomplices used the tunnels to travel to an old farmhouse that they owned prior to their internment and get radio instructions from Japan on key targets that coming air attacks were seeking to destroy. They then used their tunnels to reach these locations. During air raid blackouts, they were able to light fires to mark the locations for the bombers.

The attacks attracted the attention of the Sub-Mariner and Betty Dean to investigate. Following the most recent attack, they obtained a tip at the local FBI field office that allowed them to track down the strange fires to Suki's hideout outside of the camp. Catching Namor and Betty, Suki attempted to drown Namor (who had disguised himself as a farmer) to no avail and fled with his men.

Namor suspected that Suki and his men were hiding out within the internment camp. The hero went to the local camp that confirmed his hunch. Later, hiding in a bed, Namor followed Suki and his men as they sneaked out of the camp and prepared to signal incoming Japanese fighters to a nearby oil field. Namor attacked them and captured the spies before they could signal the fighters. Suki and his men were turned over to the authorities, and the Japanese fighters shot out of the sky.[1]

Suki's subsequent fate is unknown.
