History

The Arizona team is from the 50-State Initiative As the team worked to help civilians during the Secret Invasion, 3-D Man and the Skrull Kill Krew attacked. They reveal Desert Stars' member the Blacksmith to be a Skrull.

The Skrulls placed imposters on each Initiative teams. The Skrull Kill Krew appointed themselves the job of eliminating all the infiltrators, by tracking them across the country state by state.

It was revealed that Blacksmith, was the Skrull and on his discovery attacks the team. The new 3-D Man reveals that Blacksmith was a Skrull using his special goggles when the Stars were helping clear up an accident in Phoenix. Ryder the leader of the Skrull Kill Krew starts shooting at Blacksmith to the shock of the rest of the team but the Skrull then reveals himself.

Blacksmith fights the Stars and the Kill Krew. The Skrull takes down most of the team during the battle and slices off one of Komodo's arm with its shield. The Skrull is finally taken down with a laser blast which went right through Komodo and into Blacksmith. Komodo heals quickly because of her lizard regenerative powers. The rest of the Stars were all injured but the whole team survives.

Komodo leaves to help 3-D Man and the Skrull Kill Krew find the Skrulls who have infiltrated the other Initiative teams.

Desert Stars

• Two-Gun Kid - (Matthew Hawks), was appointed team leader.
• Komodo - (Melati Kusuma) is a former graduate student of Dr. Curt Connors (aka the Lizard). She uses Connors' regenerative lizard serum to modify her own DNA . Connors later registered her for the Initiative and she was sent to Camp Hammond to be trained. Komodo was later appointed to the Initiative team for Arizona the Desert Star.
• Johnny Cool - (John Hashimoto) has the ability of cryokenisis and can emit freeze blasts. Johnny Cool is injured when Blacksmith is revealed to be a Skrull.
• Supermax - (Edward Black Wolf)
• Blacksmith (Skrull) - (Jerry) was revealed to be a Skrull infiltrator.
