When Dollar Bill's documentary on the Defenders aired on television exposing the groups existance to the general public, Sagittarius and Libra formed a band of criminals to commit crimes. The group would claim to be members of the Defenders in order to ruin the groups good name.

History

When Dollar Bill's documentary on the Defenders aired on television exposing the groups existance to the general public, Sagittarius and Libra formed a band of criminals to commit crimes. The group would claim to be members of the Defenders in order to ruin the groups good name. The group would split into two teams, Sagittarius leading Porcupine, Blob, Beetle, Whirlwind, Batroc, Electro, Looter, and Plantman, and Libra would lead Boomerang, Joe the Gorilla, Toad, Melter, Leap-Frog, Shocker and Pecos.
Both groups would run foul of the real Defenders, who had their ranks bloistered with the addition of new members who wanted to try out for the team following Dollar Bill's documentary. A group led Hellcat would battle Sagittarius' team, ending with Hellcat knocking everybody out with a mental burst. Libra's group would also be single handedly defeated by Valkyrie who was experincing hallucinations that put her in a berzerker fury.
Following the battle, Sagittarius' group was taken into police custody, while it's presumable that Libra's group managed to escape. The group disbanded after their defeat never to reform again, although all members have been active and worked togeather at times since.
