Deacon Frost is responsible for Blade's mother's death. He bit and turned her during his birth, thus resulting in his Vampire/Human-Hybrid condition. Blade has been hunting him for most of his life, but hasn't yet been able to kill him.
Captured by Nick Fury
Frost was apprehended by Nick Fury and kept locked in a safe-house to be used as leverage in persuading Blade to join the Avengers. Blade accepted on the condition that he be granted some alone time with Frost when his mission with the Avengers was over.[1]
