Synopsis for the 1st StoryEdit

Norman is made the head of national security and disbands S.H.I.E.L.D. replacing it with a new organization called H.A.M.M.E.R.. He also recruits several key members to his operations such as Victoria Hand as his deputy director and all the new Avengers. Meanwhile he arranges for Doctor Doom to be escorted back to Latveria. Upon arriving in Latveria however, Doom and his escorts are attacked by Morgana le Fay

• This issue shipped on January 21st, 2009.

• The scene of the Dark Illuminati took place in Secret Invasion: Dark Reign #1.
• Morgan le Fay last appeared in Mighty Avengers #8.
• Victoria Hand first appeared in Mighty Avengers #20, but this is her first chronological appearance.
• Stark's personal Helicarrier's only other appearance was in Mighty Avengers #1.
