Synopsis for "Deadweight"

Dave is using his superhuman strength to his advantage, working as a removals man in Manhattan. As he finishes his shift, he reminisces about the fact that he and Randy are on the lam from the Army, and about their run-in with Philip Nolan Voigt. Dave goes to pick up Merriam, who he's started dating, from her job at Voigt's campaign headquarters that she's ostensibly taken on to spy on Voigt for the C.I.A. In reality, she and the other D.P.7 women are under Voigt's control. Merriam tries to check in with their Control, but gets no answer, which she thinks is odd, as the line should always be open.

Back at their apartment in Soho, Randy and Jenny experiment with using make-up to make themselves look more normal. Receiving a call from Merriam, Jenny tries to phone Control too but also gets no answer, so decides to check out Control's house. Randy sends one of his mini-antibodies after her to keep an eye on her.

Staking out Voigt's headquarters from a cafe across the street, Charly is hassled by two creeps, but manages to get away from them by using her C.I.A. training and control over friction. She hides from them by wallcrawling up a wall and while she hides she thinks about the fact that she wants to follow her dreams to be a Broadway dancer.

Steph is walking her kids back to the apartment before she suddenly starts to feel incredibly heavy. She's soon too heavy to even raise her head from the pavement, much to her kids' dismay. Hearing their screams, Randy flies out of the apartment to help. Realizing another paranormal must be involved, he sends the kids inside before a sniper shoots him from a window opposite, the bullet passing through him and hitting Steph too. Randy manages to send his antibodies after the sniper who runs, leaving his rifle behind. The antibodies find the rifle as Randy manages to lift Steph and fly to the hospital with her. The assassin, Deadweight, looks on, deciding not to attack them again so he can surprise the others. On the way to the hospital, Randy passes out and he and Steph crash onto a pile of garbage in an alley.

Looking out of the window, the kids see that their mom and Randy are gone and start screaming. They're heard by Jenny who's walking down the street, having found Control's house empty. The kids show Jenny the rifle that the antibodies brought back with them and Jenny tries to calm them down. She tells Charly over the phone what happened and Charly heads back to the apartment. Deadweight, posing as a homeless person, watches her go inside and resolves to take her and Jenny out.

Inside, Jenny tells Charly to look after the kids while she goes out searching. She opens the door while still talking to Charly and Charly see Deadweight with a revolver behind her but is too stunned to warn her. Deadweight starts using his gravity -altering power on the two women. Jenny resists thanks to her superhuman strength, but goes crashing through the floor because she's too heavy for it. Deadweight shoots at her while she's down, then turns his attention to Charly, who begs him not to shoot. She makes the floor slippery and he goes sliding through the hole in the floor, and she accidentally follows as the floor is on a slope. Charly lands badly on her ankle, and with Deadweight on the floor, Jenny (who was playing possum) jumps onto him so he can't use his power on her, but rolls off when he points his gun at her face. He uses his power on them again and is ready to kill them while a scared Ben watches through the hole when Dave (with Merriam behind him) bursts through the door. Charly jams Deadweight's gun and Dave moves toward him, but Deadweight uses his power to bring him down. Thanks to his great strength, Dave resists ten G's of gravity and is almost within arm's reach of the assassin when a shot rings out - Ben has grabbed the sniper rifle and shot Deadweight in the leg. With Deadweight in agony, Jenny and Dave interrogate him and find out he's a freelancer hired by someone called 'Lilac.' Dave finally calls an ambulance and the friends continue to search for Steph and Randy with the help of the antibodies. Soon after, they hear a shout, and Steph and Randy are coming down the street. Randy tells Dave that Steph's power helped her eventually heal her gunshot wound and then she healed his. Jenny says she's going to get some answers about what happened.

Jenny meets a contact at an adult movie theater who tells her that the four women have been cut loose from the C.I.A. as Voigt knew about their surveillance, and packed their controls off to South America. Resenting this, one of the controls, Irene Dobish hired Deadweight to terminate the four of them. Jenny leaves and ponders what she and the others will do now. Walking down the street, Jenny sees a newspaper confirming that Voigt has been elected President. She wonders whether a paranormal being in the White House will change the treatment of paranormals, but she realizes she doubts it.
