History

The Consortium of Nations was made up of members from various nations around the world, and each member did not know the true identity of the others, only that they were all called Mr. or Mrs. Smith. When Thor first moved Asgard to float above New York City, it was the Consortium that arranged for the nuclear attack that Thor thwarted. They also later arranged for a priest to be used as bait to destroy Thor, detonating another nuclear device while he was on an old abandoned island. Enraged, Thor found their secret base and destroyed the entire mountain with them still inside it. It is entirely possible that, given their nature, the Consortium of Nations could always exist.
