Synopsis for "Mission: Murder!"
Iceman and Beast are attacked by a Sentinel - just as Larry Trask announces the Sentinels return on prime time TV. Iceman holds a rearguard action to allow Beast to escape, but is ultimately captured. Back in Egypt, the other X-Men get word that the Sentinels have returned from Beast. Angel takes off to fly back to the states immediately, but Scott and Jean want to spend a few more hours looking for Alex Summers. At the sentinels base, we discover Larry Trask has designed a way to strip mutants of their powers, and he captures Iceman on camera, unable to ice up, try to assault him as soon as he's let loose. Later, Iceman finds Alex, now called Havok, and Lorna Dane - Lorna a prisoner of Larry, Alex there because he cut a deal with Larry Trask to help him control his powers. Elsewhere, the sentinels capture the Living Monolith. Over the Atlantic, Warren gets nabbed by a pair of Sentinels. In Mesmero's base, a Sentinel captures Mesmero and destroys Magneto - revealed to be a robot! In the Sentinel's base, Judge Chalmers arrives, and expresses doubts about the justice of this persecution of mutants. Larry observes the arrival of the remaining X-Men in the vicinity, and is suddenly assaulted by Banshee - who had surrendered to gain access to the base. He trashes a sentinel, but two more take him down. Furious at being assaulted, Larry orders the sentinels to find and destroy any mutants in the area. Judge Chalmers knocks some sense into Larry, but strips him of his medallion at the same time, and Larry finds he can no longer countermand his orders. In fact, he is soon to be a victim of them - because his amulet hid the fact that he too was a mutant!
