Synopsis for "The Rage of Blastaar!"

Blastaar (Earth-616) rages in his extradimensional prison. Meanwhile, Jean Grey is experimenting with a strange machine in the X-mansion. It overloads, knocking Jean out briefly. The X-men, distracted by Jean, notice too late that the machine didn't stop working, and has opened a portal out of which Blastaar emerges. Blastaar and the X-Men tussle, and Blastaar generally gets the better of them. For the final confrontation, Iceman creates a number of ice men that Jean telekinetically controls. However, Blastaar beats them off and all seems lost when suddenly Blastaar is zapped by 'wild energy' from the same machine that released him travelling along the melted remains of one of the ice men, killing him.

Henchmen join in the fight and are quickly overpowered, but the Conquistador gets his machine going. Unexpectedly, rather than powering his suit it courses through him, a feat which Professor X reveals was his doing. After being rescued, Beast joins the team.
