Magneto and his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants have captured the X-men, and Quicksilver is put in-charge of them since he's the one who allows them to live. Angel escapes, and manages to dodge a flying Quicksilver long enough to make good his escape. Exhausted, he lands on a strange island where he finds and fights Red Raven. Red Raven finally decides to talk instead of fight, and relates that he is protecting the secret of the bird people who are in suspended animation. He gassed them to stop them from killing the humans, and hid them deep below the surface of the ocean. But it was only to last 20 years, and the time has come for them to wake.
