Synopsis for "Now Strikes...the Sub-Human!"
A New York subway train carrying Hank and Bobby (again on a double date with Vera and Zelda) gets stopped by a powerful, if ugly, being. Hank and Bobby slip away from their dates and into costume, and battle the creature, inadvertently naming him Grotesk. Grotesk escapes, and we get a flashback explaining his history. Back at the mansion, Professor X is being uncharacteristically harsh and pushing the others hard in the danger room. Bobby and Hank return and tell them of Grotesk. Elsewhere, a scientist demonstrates his earthquake machine. Grotesk notices and hatches a plan to revenge himself on the surface dwellers. At the mansion, Professor X disappears, and Jean refuses to participate in a Grotesk hunt because the professor asked her not to. The other X-Men, confused and betrayed by Jean's behavior, go looking for Grotesk, and find him with a captured scientist, looking for the earthquake machine!
