Synopsis for "The Power and the Pendant!"
The X-Men, on their way to returning Jean to Metro College, stop to save children from a burning orphanage. In South America, El Tigre, a notorious gem hunter, discovers a cache of ancient Mayan treasure including a mysterious stone that gives him phenomenal powers. He discovers that its half of the Pendant of Kukulcán, and if combined with the other half will give him god-like powers. His journey to the US (the other half is in the New York "city museum", probably the Metropolitan Museum of Art) sets off Cerebro, and the X-Men hurry to investigate. However, they don't spot El Tigre because he isn't rampaging around like a typical super-villain. However, a TV News report of strange happenings at a bar clues them into the mysterious "mutant"'s identity. They pursue him to the museum where the X-Men are defeated by El Tigre and his henchmen. El Tigre joins the two halves of the amulet together, and transforms into Kukulcán!
