Synopsis for "Playing With Fire!"
Rusty accidentally breaks the string on Skids bead necklace during a workout in the training room. Skids runs off, crying, because she can't control her forcefield to let her pick them up. She heads for the Morlock tunnels, and Rusty follows - there they talk, and both realize they don't have the control they desire over their powers. Suddenly Masque attacks Skids from behind, but can't get through her shields to change her. They take off back towards X-Factor HQ. Rusty discovers the woman he burned when his powers first kicked on is in a New York hospital, and that X-Factor is paying for her bills, but with X-Factor's new financial difficulties, they may not be able to continue. Rusty goes back to the Morlock tunnels, and makes a deal with Masque to alter her features to repair the damage he did. They sneak into the hospital and get Miss la Porte to follow them to Masque, who fixes her face - but the price is he gets to ruin Rusty's. Miss la Porte objects, and takes her burned face back. Masque further changes Rusty so he can't breathe, and Skids attacks him, finally managing to drop her field so she can strangle him. Masque reluctantly restores Rusty. Emma la Porte decides to stay with the Morlocks and try to bring the word of God to them.
