Synopsis for "Boom Boom Boom!"
The doctor tells Warren that either they remove his wings or he'll die, and Warren vows to die first. From an arcade Boom-Boom calls the X-Factor HQ to report an evil mutant (Vanisher) is "tryin to get me to turn evil an' stuff like that." Bobby and Hank respond. At the hospital, Scott and Jean catch Jean's sister Sara on the television while standing vigil over Angel. Iceman and Beast show up to the arcade as X-Factor while Vanisher and Boom-Boom are having a heart-to-heart chat. Boom-Boom tells them there was no evil mutant, then drops a firecracker down Bobby's back. Vanisher does what he does best, and Bobby captures Boom-Boom, and the crowd boos. Boom-Boom escapes, and Iceman and Beast change into their X-Terminator costumes. Elsewhere, Apocalypse offers Autumn Rolfson something she's always wanted. Scott and Jean go to check on Sara, and not only is Sara missing, but they get a threatening phone call and the house explodes! Scott worriedly tells Jean that Maddie is also missing. Back on the chase, Iceman and Beast track down Boom-Boom, and eventually convince her to come back to X-Factor HQ. And back in the hospital, Scott decides to go to Alaska to look for Madelyne.
Notes
- The family whose apartment was firebombed belonged to Karma's family - though events are not quite what they appear. See New Mutants #46 for details.
