Synopsis for "Falling Angel!"

The Marauders are killing off Morlocks in the tunnels. X-Factor is in the tunnels as well, after their battle with Freedom Force, and Scott orders Angel and Jean to take Rusty and Skids back to headquarters while he and the others look for Artie. They run into Harpoon and Arclight, and after a quick skirmish Arclight separates the two groups. Elsewhere Sabretooth attacks Caliban, but Cyclops arrives in time to stop him from killing. Elsewhere, Mystique has disclosed Warren's identity as Angel to the media, which has repercussions for his company. Back in the tunnels, Cyke et al. run into Blockbuster and Vertigo, and defeat them in a quick battle, but can't stop them from getting away. In the X-Factor headquarters, Warren and Jean are talking when Candy Southern arrives - and misinterprets Angel as being involved with her. Below, Sabretooth and Harpoon run afoul of Plague, who takes Sabretooth out of the fight early. Harpoon goes for the kill when Apocalypse stops him, and offers her a place with him as Pestilence. Angel and Jean head back to the tunnels while Cyclops, Iceman, and Beast run into Arclight, Prism, and Scrambler. The Marauders take down the heroes, but Jean and Warren arrive in time to drive them off, Jean shattering Prism before he can flee. Jean takes the wounded back to headquarters while Angel goes looking for Artie. Warren finds him, but also finds trouble in the form of Harpoon, Vertigo, and Blockbuster. Artie escapes, but Angel pays for his heroism - and they pin his wings to the wall with Harpoon's distinctive weapons.

Notes

  • This is part of the Mutant Massacre event.
  • The cover of this issue also marks the 25th anniversary of Marvel where all the covers that month featured a border around it, like so.
