Synopsis for "Subway to Salvation!"

Sunspot agonizes over his meeting with the Beyonder. Who, notably, encounters Illyana on a train. The beyonder transforms Illyana, expelling the demonic aspects of her, and sets her aloft in a flying train car. Shadowcat ends up with the soulsword, and then sees demons running amok. The New Mutants defeat a demon, and then Illyana's flying train car arrives. She transforms Cannonball, and tries to invite the other New Mutants in, but they're hearing none of it. A short battle ensues, but suddenly a massive demon appears with Kitty dangling from its belt. A short philosophical debate ensues, and Illyana takes back her demonic side, banishes the demon, and frees Kitty.
