Synopsis for "Their Name is Legion!"
Continued from Fantastic Four Annual #11.... With Uatu still present at the Baxter Building, the Thing realizes that part of the Vibranium that ended up in the 1940's through Dr. Doom's time machine is still in the past, threatening to change history so that the Nazi's win World War II. Deducing the situation (no thanks to the silent Watcher) Ben jumps through the time machine before the present is erased from existence, he arrives in New York City of 1946.
There, even though he takes off the mask of his Thing exoskeleton, the Thing attracts unwanted attention of the authorities who figure him for a Nazi agent. However, when a Nazi air fleet led by the Skyshark and the Slicer, attacks New York, the Liberty Legion arrives to stop them. With the help of the Thing, they manage to stop the attack.
Telling them that he's seeking the Vibranium, the Thing joing the Liberty Legion in attempting to stop Nazi agents from stealing the Vibranium and it's intended use: components for a new experimental aircraft. This brings them into conflict with Master Man and U-Man, who both manage to escape from capture with the items they seek. To make matters worse, Skyshark manages to kill the inventor who came up with the design for the new aircraft.
The Watcher appears suddenly, making Ben believe that the major turning point is about to happen, and it does when a giant swastika shaped airship appears and begins smashing buildings. This story is continued in Marvel Two-In-One #20.
