Synopsis for "The Night Phantom Walks!"
In Haiti, Night Phantom conducts a destructive campaign against construction and power plants, including Tony Stark's Project Caribbean. Although reluctant to visit Haiti because Janice Cord is there visiting family friend Travis Hoyt, Stark investigates. With police representative Inspector Christophe, he peruses the remains of Project Caribbean, but Night Phantom attacks them. Happening upon the scene, Janice takes Stark to Hoyt's house, while Christophe pursues Night Phantom. Hoyt, embittered against technology after a crippling accident, drives Stark away. Janice's resultant quarrel with Hoyt culminates in him abducting her through a subterranean passage. Janice dislodges what proves to be a plastic mask of Hoyt's original face, revealing Hoyt as Night Phantom. Telling his origin, he adds that his sabotage campaign is intended to prevent recent construction from causing the underground pool to drain away. Arriving at the pool, where he previously imprisoned Christophe, he tries to immerse Janice. However, Iron Man, who tracked signs of Night Phantom's struggle with Christophe, bursts in and attacks. Hoping to gain more power, Night Phantom dives into the pool, but the already weakened ground collapses beneath him, and he is pulled underground with the last of the waters.
