Synopsis for "Now Falls the Skull!"

No longer amused by pretending to be Captain America, the Red Skull transports both Captain America and the Falcon to his castle in Berchtesgaden. He then restores Captain America to his proper body. Cap and the Falcon then try to take him on, but with the Cosmic Cube, he's just too powerful. Fortunately, A.I.M. and Modok have discovered the means to neutralize the Cosmic Cube. The Red Skull, clutching the powerless Cosmic Cube, vanishes as it melts away into nothingness.

• Captain America and the Avengers fight the Grandmaster and Squadron Sinister (Earth-616) in Avengers 69-71 shortly after this story.
