Synopsis for "...The Trial!"
As the other Avengers go about their business, the Vision, the Scarlet Witch, the Beast, the Black Panther, and Wonder Man enter the mansion to encounter a dangerous intruder, the Grim Reaper. Even after they explain that his brother, Wonder Man, for whose death he blames them, is once more alive, the Reaper attacks, knocking out all five heroes. They regain their senses to find themselves unwilling participants in a bizarre trial, as the Grim Reaper attempts to determine whether Wonder Man or the Vision is actually his brother, intending to eliminate whichever is an impostor. Both heroes recount their origins, but this leaves the Reaper even more uncertain, especially after Wonder Man reveals that he has metamorphosed into a superhuman form whose eyes glow with energy. The Vision at last comes to terms with his existence and declares himself a separate being from Simon Williams, provoking the Reaper to again render all unconscious. Wonder Man is unaffected, however, and battles on until his brother at last lies beaten at his feet.
