History

The Circle of Eight is a secret cult dedicated to the occult and chaos magic, the first evidence of their existence came from the vision of a fortuneteller S.H.I.E.L.D. had resorted to before. Later, numerous eight-pointed star graffiti was found in New York City, including in some crime scenes, the same fortuneteller recognized the patterns from her Circle of Eight visions.[1]

Long Live the Queen[]

Emma Frost found in one of the Hellfire Club's laboratories numerous records of Sebastian Shaw investigating the Circle of Eight. The records were brought in to S.H.I.E.L.D. afterwards.[1]

All Hallows[]

New records found in the Hellfire Club revealed the Circle of Eight were in league with Demonic entities.[1]

Mutant Mayhem[]

During the Brotherhood of Mutants's attempt to take over Manhattan, on every location that the eight-pointed star graffiti were before, there were test subjects standing watch over the sites, which arose the question if the Circle of Eight was involved on forced mutations on the test subjects. In the laboratory where Mystique was battled by Nightcrawler, numerous records and references of the Circle of Eight were found, Baron Zemo tried to retrieve them, but couldn't get all of the records.[1]

Crazy Eights[]

The Circle of Eight appeared for the first time and spread throughout New York City and San Francisco. S.H.I.E.L.D. discovered that they were responsible for the deaths of multiple minor villains, whom were murdered in occult rituals, the purpose of which is unknown. These villains were Typeface, Obnoxio the Clown, Goldbug, the Brothers Grimm, Bloodaxe, Bloodscream, and Blood Shadow.[1]

Crisis of Leadership[]

Circle of Eight cultists appeared at Empire State University when Baron Mordo summoned demons for Dr. Octopus's experiments. Many of these cultists were quickly eaten by said demons. More victim's of the Circle of Eight killing spree were later discovered, including Killer Shrike, Raza Longknife, Angar the Screamer, Fancy Dan, Machete, Tempo, and Kangaroo.[1]

Globetrotting[]

Circle of Eight cultists were present during a Jotun attack led by the Wrecking Crew. More victims of their killing spree were identified, these were Adrian Luca, Grant Alexander, Looter, Rattan, Luis Reyes, Aimi Yoshida, Dr. Megalomann, Warthog, and Mandrill.[1]
