SHIELD discovered about Earth-born superhuman Firebird (Bonita Juarez) and correctly deduced that her superpowers were related to SHIELD activities. Fearing that Firebird may be a threat or a hindrance to other Earthlings, SHIELD abducted her to perform painful experiments on her body so as to take relevant conclusions. Onboard the Orbiter, Chlreee led the investigation, with fellow SHIELD member Hji operating a machine that gave them information. Chlreee and fellow scientist Cmar Har observed how Firebird resisted her discomfort without screaming; then Firebird spoke out loud in English, and Chlreee immediately asked Hji whether that was a language to be informed of. Afterward, Hji provided a playback of Firebird's recent past; but Chlreee noticed that they had to research into older times. Chlreee discovered that Firebird had joined the Avengers, of which he knew, and concluded that SHIELD had created a "Terran parahuman". Looking at previous events in which Juarez spoke Spanish (with Hji translating), they discovered the meteor-related origin of Firebird's powers, and Chlreee immediately understood that Yrd Base-Level Pupil Yoof had performed an unauthorized experiment, then carelessly disposed of waste elements by throwing those away, and those same residues had empowered Firebird. Chlreee was visibly angry at Yoof.[1]
Firebird then released herself and demanded to know what was happening, attacking the scientists (thou the Orbiter's security measures protected them against immediate harm). Chlreee ordered to activate the translator for the two used languages, and stepped forward personally to talk with Firebird, something that Cmar Har appreciated. Chlreee apologized, explained what was happening, and what had happened, and how they only wanted to ensure that Earth remained stable. Firebird was enraged at discovering that young, irresponsible Yoof had accidentally given her powers, and focused an attack and scolding on him; then had a short crisis of faith, as she had believed her powers to have been a sign of God. Chlreee, already impressed at how Firebird had used her powers in the encounter, reassured Firebird, telling her of the specifics of her powers and how useful they were, then returned her to Earth, at which point she had been convinced that God had given her the powers through SHIELD.[1]
