As a tough and hardened Chicago gang member, Cell thought he had experienced everything - until the night a policeman´s bullet ripped through his body and caused him to turn into a single-celled organism that oozed into the city sewers below. The Morlocks rescued the mutant from the police, who were still in pursuit, and a gratefull Cell joined their group. After the Morlocks invaded a Sentinel base, Cell engulfed the base commander so his friends could escape. As they safely exited, a Sentinel killed Cell and the commander in an explosion that wiped out the entire base.
