HistoryEdit
When it was finally revealed to Doctor Connors that Peter was in fact Spider-Man, Connors examined Peter's blood to learn more about how to help him.
Intrigued by what he had found, Connors could not help but try to use Peter's DNA to create something new. Infusing the sample (which at the time contained trace elements of Peter's father's research, the Venom suit) with his own, Connors succeeded in creating something entirely new, a form of life that seemed to be able to sustain itself by consuming others.

Added by PeteparkerIn an attempt to find it's genetic 'father', the beast made its way to the Parker residence in Queens, where it found and fed on Gwen Stacy, killing her. In the resulting fight with Peter, the monster was apparently destroyed.
Months later, "Gwen" would show up at the Parker residence again[1], turning out to be the monster, who had re-created her to serve as it's host. It was able to copy her in every way, to the point that the clone even believed itself to be the original Gwen.
Creating chaos in Peter's life, she/it was captured and contained by S.H.I.E.L.D.[2].
During its confinement at the Triskelion, S.H.I.E.L.D. attempted experiments on the beast, by placing it in close proximity to a fragment of the Tablet of Order and Chaos[3]. This would prove a mistake, however, as the life-form gained enough power to break free from its captors. It also gained the power to reanimate any of the people it fed from as copies of itself. Spider-Man, in his Black Suit, entered the Triskelion to battle and defeat the beast. S.H.I.E.L.D. returned the life-form to confinement, with Spider-Man returning the tablet fragment to its original dimension.

Added by SymbiocideLater, the Gwen Stacy clone and life-form were given some form of therapy by Tony Stark and a team of doctors within the compound. During one such therapy lesson, Norman Osborn, (as the Green Goblin), caused a massive prison break where she/it escaped in the confusion. They swam to Manhattan and returned to the Parker's house in a confused and terrified state, with Carnage's face on Gwen's body[4].
During the subsequent exchange with Peter, Eddie Brock came by in an attempt to gain access into the house and retake his lost Venom suit, who he knew had returned to Peter. Peter attacked Brock and engaged him as Venom on a nearby industrial rooftop, with "Gwen" and the Carnage life-form secretly following behind. During the fight, Eddie reabsorbed the Venom suit, and was close to killing Peter when "Gwen" was able to intervene, using their abilities to fight off Eddie. However, Eddie was able to absorb the Carnage monster into his Venom suit, rendering "Gwen" just the clone of an average girl[5].
Powers and AbilitiesEdit
Powers
Carnage possessed various superhuman attributes as a result being a combination of Peter's DNA (which at the time contained trace elements of the Venom suit) and Connors's DNA. Most of its powers are similar to the powers Spider-Man and Venom possess, though a few are more developed. Carnage is superhumanly strong. Though it is unknown how much he can lift. It needs to feed on humans to survive, due to its damaged DNA. It can create organic tissues from its own matter, similar to that of Spider-Man's webs. He can also use these as weapons, such as whipping them around.Abilities
Carnage needs to feed on humans to survive, due to it's damaged DNA.Strength level
While the exact extent to its strength is unknown, Carnage has been depicted as vastly stronger than Spider-Man.Weaknesses
Carnage is vulnerable to fire.
NotesEdit
- The appearance of the life-form was loosely based on the original Carnage, who had been drawn by Mark Bagley as well.
- In Ultimate Spider-Man: The Video Game, Carnage is created when Adrian Toomes injects Spider-Man with a serum to force the cells of the Venom Suit to multiply. The Venom cells rapidly overtake Spider-Man, becoming Carnage. Carnage battles Venom, but loses, and Venom absorbs Carnage, gaining full control over his Suit.
- In Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Carnage was captured by S.H.I.E.L.D. who had also acquired a fragment of the Tablet of Order and Chaos. S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists put Carnage together with the fragment as an experiment but Carnage absorbed the power of the fragment and broke free. Carnage absorbed the life force of the agents in the Triskelion, and with its new-found power, was able to reanimate the corpses of those it had drained, as well as creating clones of itself. Spider-Man, who had arrived at the Triskelion to ask for Nick Fury's help in finding the last Tablet fragment, fought and defeated Carnage, retrieving the piece of the tablet. This stream of events would indicate that the 'Ultimate Universe' seen in Shattered Dimensions is actually a parallel reality of Earth-1610, and not the Ultimate Universe itself, as the game would lead you to believe.
