After the events of Fear Itself, Steve Rogers is now Captain America again.

During the dark days of the early 1940's a covert US military experiment turned Steve Rogers into America's first Super-Soldier, Captain America. Throughout the war, Cap and his partner James "Bucky" Barnes fought alongside infantry and with a group of heroes known as the Invaders. In the closing months of World War II, Captain America and Bucky were both presumed dead in an explosion over the English Channel. Decades later, a figure was found trapped in ice and Captain America was revived. Former Grand Director Steven Rogers has been revived by the Red Skull, the original Cap's arch enemy, and brainwashed by Dr. Faustus into attacking Barnes, while he operated as Captain America. The Director has broken free of their active control and was openly operating as "Cap of the 1950s" again, though it is implied he has adopted the full identity of the original Rogers and retired from the Cap role to head America's super-hero operations following the Siege of Asgard.
