Because the Ultimate Alliance failed to find the sword Dragon Fang, Valkyrie dies in the battle to prevent Ragnarok. She is burned in a funeral pyre alongside Balder, who died trying to save her. The consequences of this will have the people of Asgard be forbidden to contact Earth for a century.
