Preparations[]

Bruce Banner (Earth-13122) from LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 001

While in hiding, Bruce was approached by Black Widow as a group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents secretly surrounded the building he was staying in. Black Widow informed Bruce of the Tesseract, bringing him onboard to study him as the Tesseract had recently been stolen by Loki Laufeyson. Despite the other agents' cover being blown, Bruce agreed to this.

Boarding the Helicarrier with Black Widow, Bruce helped prepare the runway for Steve Rogers' arrival, setting up the runway light, clearing up an oil spillage and finding a signalling flag so the staff could signal the Quinjet's landing. After Rogers' quinjet landed, he joined the duo and made their way inside.

Attack on the Helicarrier[]

Meeting with Black Widow and Captain America at the Hellicarrier they were joined by Thor, the brother of Loki, who told them of Loki's plans to conquer the earth with an army of Chitauri. Banner then begun working with Tony Stark to track the Tesseract's signature, only for them, Black Widow and Thor Steve Rogers of S.H.I.E.L.D's plans to build weapons of mass destruction with the Tesseract, outraging Bruce and causing an argument among the group and Nick Fury. The group were then interrupted by the Hellicarrier being attacked by a brainwashed Hawkeye, separating the group. Bruce and Natasha were knocked down to the lower levels, with Bruce transforming into the Hulk due to the stress he was already experiencing, the physical pain which kept escalating due to both the landing and a string of accidents and the influence of Loki. Hulk chased Black Widow and Agent Williams until being engaged physically by Thor. The fight between the two continued throughout the hellicarrier, until Hulk was attacked by a jet piloted by Stan Lee, with Hulk instead beginning to attack the jet; eventually throwing Lee out of the cockpit and destroying the plane. Both Banner and Lee were able to survive the fall and land in the same place, with Lee handing Banner his pants.

Avengers Assembled[]

Travelling to New York on a motorcycle, Banner found the city under siege by an escaped Loki and his army of Chitauri summoned from a portal. Bruce transformed into the Hulk to help in the fight, stopping a Leviathan in its track and allowing Iron Man to blast its weak point, destroying it.

Triumph in New York[]

With the Avengers now assembled, Captain America took charge, giving Hulk license to indulge in his destructive tendencies with the Chitauri. The ensuing battle led to Hulk pairing up with Thor on the back of a Leviathan, working their way through the Chitauri defences and the Leviathan's scales before peircing the Leviathan's skins with its own scales, allowing Thor to bring the beast down by using the loose scale as a conductor and electocuting it. Going to Stark Tower, Hulk was faced with Loki, who conjured a group of illusions to fool him. Black Widow was able to bypass this, scanning the area to figure out which Loki was real. Upon this, Loki had an outburst at Hulk that resulting in Hulk effortlessly subdueing Loki, throwing his scepter to Black Widow, allowing her to close the portal. Upon Stark redirecting a Nuke into the Chitauri mothership, the majority of Chitauri troops died. However, Tony Stark himself begun falling, with the Hulk catching him and waking him up with the kiss of life. With the battle won, the Avengers were heralded as heroes by the majority of the world, with Loki and the Teseract being returned to Asgard while the Avengers went to get food at Shawarma palace.[2]

After that, Banner took time to learn to control his transformation and now he have Hulk under control.[3]

Cosmic Brick crisis[]

Grand Central Station Assault[]

The Hulk was called in to aid Iron Man in defeating the Abomination and Sandman, who were holding Grand Central Station hostage in exchange for Cosmic Bricks. The two begun working their way through the nearby roads, getting into a fistfight with Abomination that led to Abomination's incapcitation. Entering the bank, the two were able to make their way through Sandman's defences, eventually causing Sandman to retaliate, causing him to take the form of a sandstorm and attack Avengers Tower. The two were suddenly accompanied Spider-Man and were able to incapacitate Sandman through solidifying his form with a combination of water and cement. As the two villains were returned to custody, Hulk helped Damage Control and Roxxon clean up the debris from the fight.

Emergency at The Raft[]

Back at Stark Tower, Hulk "helped" Tony Stark research the Cosmic Bricks, breaking many keyboards in the process. Suddenly, a break-in at the Raft occurred, with Fury sending Tony and Hulk to take care of it. The two took a ferry to the raft after helping said Ferry's captain and entered the Raft. There they met Wolverine, who had tracked Sabretooth to this location. The prisoners were subsequently freed by Sabretooth and Mystique, leading the three to investigate the Raft further. Entering the Raft's inner area, the trio encountered the newly freed Whiplash and Leader. The trio made quick work of the Leader, destroying his forcefield and using teamwork to bypass his mind control powers. Finding Sabretooth at a Chamber room, Sabretooth was able to free various high threat inmates, including Carnage, Red Skull, Rhino, Stan Lee and Magneto. Magneto used his powers to pull Iron Man's MK 6 suit apart, putting him out of the proceedings, meanwhile, Hulk and Wolverine followed Magneto & Sabretooth to the elevator. After fighting on the elevator, the two followed Magneto and Sabretooth until Hulk was ambushed by Abomination, allowing the villains to escape. The Hulk and Wolverine managed to subdue Abomination with a combination of prison lights and brute strength, with Hulk eventually throwing Abomination into a nearby Helicopter that Sabretooth was in, allowing both to be taken into custody. As Hulk and Wolverine met up with Iron Man and the three cleaned up the scene, they went their separate ways, with Hulk ripping his pants and needing to get a new pair.

Rise of Liberty[]

Upon Magneto controlling the Statue of Liberty, Hulk and Mr Fantastic were sent to deal with it. Rendezvousing with Wolverine they took a Hulk friendly quinjet to a Roxxon plant that was being attacked by the Statue of Liberty. Upon the jet trying to intercept the statue, it was knocked into the Roxxon plant, sending it crashing into one of the rooms. Working their way upward whilst fighting Magneto's acolytes and avoiding attacks from Liberty, the trio eventually made their way outside, where Magneto used the Statue of Liberty to step on the three, causing them to end up inside the statue. Working their way to Liberty's head, they encountered Mastermind, who controlled each consecutive member of the trio with his mind control powers, exploiting their fears to make them lash out. Reed and Logan were eventually able to resist the mind control while Hulk ended up passing out as a result of the mind control. Upon regaining consciousness, Hulk and the other two found Magneto successfully extracting the Roxxon core, using his magnetic powers to decapitate the Statue of Liberty sending them flying.

Last Stand on the Hellicarrier[]

Hulk attended Nick Fury's briefing on Galactus and Doctor Doom. Later, Loki was able to take control of Galactus. Faced with the prospect of global annihilation, S.H.I.E.L.D. and Earth's mightiest heroes made an alliance with various villains who had previously been hired by Doctor Doom and Loki. Hulk was assigned to hide inside a replica of Earth with Hulk. Once Team Three had summoned a black hole, Team Four assembled it. As per Fury and Doom's earlier agreement, the villains were given a thirty second head-start to escape, an idea that was unintentionally sabotaged by Hulk's inability to count to three, allowing the villains to escape.[1]

When the force field was deactivated, Yellowjacket escaped into the vents and Ant-Man pursued him. Yellowjacket then fought Ant-Man, Hulk, A-Bomb, and Wonder Man in a yellowjacket-themed robot that emitted lasers, eventually leading to Yellowjacket being taken into custody.[3]

Thinking their efforts unsuccesful, Banner attended the party to celebrate Strucker's defeat with Natasha, the two doting over each other before being provided milkshakes. After the party he and the other male Avengers tried to lift Mjonir, only to be interrupted when an Iron Legion drone, possessed with the conciousness of the newly formed Ultron appeared and attacked the group, Banner and Black Widow hiding during the encounter. Upon Ultron declaring his intentions, the extinction of the Avengers, Thor destroyed his makeshift body with Mjolnir, though Ultron's consciousness managed to escape and his forces had successfully taken the sceptre.

Anger Management[]

After Ultron escapes, Bruce and the others go to a location where Tony claims Ultron may have gone, Africa. Most of the team went into the site, leaving Banner alone on their quinjet awaiting their call, but even when it became apparent to him that a fight had broken out he could not get clarification that the situation was a Code Green. He was still at the quinjet when Ultron's two enhanced allies Wanda and Pietro Maximoff chanced upon him, and Wanda snatched the opportunity to manipulate him with her power. Forced into an uncontrolled rage, Banner became the Hulk once more and made his way to Johannesburg. There he began to wreak havoc in the city while Stark, activating Veronica, rushed to stop him. It took a supreme effort on Stark's part to finally knock the Hulk unconscious, but by then, the battle between between the two had resulted in widespread devastation.
