History
The Brotherhood were some of the last remaining Mutants on the Earth after the US Government destroyed the X-Mansion with the X-Men inside. Once they faced Hyperion, they decided that opposing him wasn't a good idea, and that they should try to help him stop the Asteroid Magneto sent hurtling toward Earth. Of course, Magneto didn't want to do that, so his head was vaporized by Hyperion while in orbit above North America.
