Brother Mutant was an amalgameted being created when the Scarlet Warlock tried to imbue Magneto with the adamantium skeleton of Wolverine and failed, causing Wolverine, Magneto, Quicksolver, Mesmero to marge into a single being.
Various James Howletts from other realities were dispatched by the Timebreakers to stop Brother Mutant but were unsuccessful. The Exiles and one last group of "Wolverines" were able to defeat it.

Brother Mutant was able to use the combined powers of the mutants that had merged to create him: Magneto's magnetism, Mesmero's hypnotic gaze, Quicksilver's speed, Scarlet Warlock's hex powers, and Wolverine's healing factor.
