History

The Book of the Vishanti contains the most powerful white/order magic spells known, many of them being counterspells to other magic disciplines. It seems to have an endless number of pages. The book itself can be used deflect magics. Its spells can never be used for offense, only for defense. The Book is marked with the Seal of the Vishanti.

The book was thought to be lost in the past, but the Ancient One was able to find it and defeat the gryphon dispatched to guard it.

The book was also used to trap Kaluu within its pages.

Doctor Strange used the Book to cast the Spell of Tartashi to detect deception among the New Avengers, though this failed to detect Verank, the Skrull posing as Jessica Drew.
