History
Tony at one point was the super hero known as Iron Man, one of his notable battles being permanently injuring Namor during the Black-Out War. Sometime between the end of the Black-Out War and the rise of Dormammu, he suffered a degenerative spinal cancer, forcing him to take extreme measures to save himself. He now exists as a disembodied head on life support, bank rolling the Avengers and providing them with the Iron Avengers.
