Ant-Man
|
The mantle of Ant-Man has been honored by many different people for long periods of time, but the most prominent of these is the first, Dr. Henry Pym. As the original inventor of Pym Particles and the Ant-communicating helmet and founding member of the Avengers, Hank set the standard for heroes who came after him to follow. Most recognized was Scott Lang, a former small-time criminal who stole the suit, helmet, and Pym Particles for noble intentions. Scott served as Ant-Man for quite a while, even joining the Avengers and Fantastic Four, but was killed during Scarlett Witch's violent actions against her team. Briefly, Scott's daughter, Cassandra Lang, took the name, but later became Stature. Later, Chris McCarthy and Eric O'Grady were agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., who stole the newest version of the Ant-Man suite from the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. After the death of McCarthy, O'Grady took-up the mantle and continues to this day. While O'Grady doesn't seem to be the heroic type, he has shown true courage, even joining Steve Rogers' Secret Avengers. |
