HistoryEdit
Angela Del Toro was the heir to a heroic legacy that began with the Jade Tiger, a long-lost enchanted statue from the fabled kingdom of K'un-Lun. Broken into pieces, the statue's paws and head resurfaced in America, where the Sons of the Tiger wore them as amulets that enhanced their martial arts prowess. When the Sons disbanded, their discarded amulets were discovered by Angela's uncle, the young Hector Ayala, who transformed into the superhuman White Tiger through their power. In this guise, Ayala fought foes such as the Corporation crime cartel (whose members included his brother, Filippo) and teamed with heroes such as Daredevil, the Defenders, Human Fly, Jack of Hearts and Prowler, though his most frequent ally was Spider-Man (secretly Hector's Empire State University classmate).
After the Tiger's secret identity was exposed in a confrontation with the criminal Lightmaster, megalomaniac Gideon Mace decided to make Ayala his first target in a war on super-heroes. Mace slaughtered the Ayala family and led the Tiger himself into an ambush that nearly killed Hector, who decided to retire after Mace died fighting Spider-Man. His amulets passed through other hands over the years, but eventually found their way back to him. By this time, he had married and settled down, but he missed his Tiger days. Going back into action as the White Tiger, Hector was framed for murder and convicted despite the efforts of his lawyer, Matt Murdock. Ayala was shot dead trying to escape, shortly before evidence emerged that belatedly proved his innocence.

Added by PeteparkerMurdock himself had recently been "outed" as the masked crimefighter Daredevil, though he publicly denied his double identity. Trying to understand super-heroes in general and her late uncle in particular, Angela - now a Federal Agent - volunteered to participate in the ongoing FBI investigation of Murdock; however, when Hector's amulets were handed down to her, an overwhelmed Angela asked Murdock to help her decide what to do with them. Knowing the terrible cost of the vigilante lifestyle - and having seen her own partner, Agent Harold Driver, killed during the Daredevil investigation - Angela wanted to know why anyone would ever play super-hero. She told Murdock she was willing to quit the FBI and abandon her case if he could answer her questions.
Recognizing Angela's sincerity, Murdock challenged her to scale St. Catherine's Cathedral, then engaged her in rooftop combat as Daredevil. Convinced of her ability, Murdock presented Angela with a final lesson by leading her to a robbery in progress. Subduing the robbers single-handedly, a proud Angela was touched by the awestruck gratitude of the shopkeeper she had rescued, and she finally began to understand her new calling. Shortly thereafter, Del Toro rescued Murdock from ex-crimelord Alexander Bont and his reluctant henchman Gladiator, beating Potter into submission and making her mark as the new White Tiger.
Shortly after Murdock's arrest and incarceration in Riker's Island, Angela continued to operate as a fledgling vigilante dressed in black, despite the Superhuman Registration Act having come to pass. Struggling at first, Angela was approached by Black Widow Natasha Romanov who on behalf of Murdock arranged for Angela to have a fitted superhero costume of her own and thus further establish her new lifestyle. Natasha also helped Angela in her first mission - locating the source of illegal identification documents as well as the man who killed Agent Driver. During this time Angela had brief run-ins with King Cobra, The Lizard and even Deadpool and also encountered Danny Rand assuming the Daredevil persona and deduced his identity.
Much later, Murdock was a free man once again but was now targeted by The Hand - seeking to make him their new leader. Many of his friends and allies - including Angela, were also targeted as a means to make him comply. Hand operative Lady Bullseye ambushed Angela in her own home and stabbed her through the chest, killing her, but only to resurrect her as a new Hand vessel. From this point onwards Angela aided Lady Bullseye in her crusade to break Murdock alongside Black Tarantula, Carlos DaMuerto. Carlos, possessing a healing factor, was immune to Hand conditioning and posed as an operative to stop Lady Bullseye's agenda and subsequently cured Angela of her own conditioning. When Lady Bullseye was cast out of The Hand for being untrustworthy and Murdock assumed leadership, Angela and Carlos stood behind him as his top lieutenants.
Shadowland
After Bullseye destroyed an entire city block, killing many civilians, Murdock ordered the hand to be more aggressive towards criminals, culminating in Murdock himself killing Bullseye in cold blood. Murdock's new murderous behaviour was the result of possession by The Beast - an ancient demonic entity placed within The Hand by the evil Snakeroot Clan. Angela, as it transpired was still very much corrupted by The Hand's dark influence and was in fact acting as Snakeroot's spy within Matt's inner circle. Now Matt's most aggressive servant Angela ignited his own ferocity by revelling in The Hand's dark justice; she forcibly prevented other superheroes from having contact with him and ordered a kill on Foggy Nelson and Dakota North for trying as well. Her malice escalated when during a conversation with Carlos in which he voices his opinions on Shadowland and Matt's rule, she stabs him through the back and throws him off a rooftop to die, later that same night she offers to personally slit Foggy's throat when he breaks into Shadowland to try and reason with Matt. During the final confrontation against The Beast to save Matt's soul, Angela is subdued by Master Izo.
In the aftermath of Shadowland, Dakota tracks down Carlos, who is alive and being cared for by the Night Nurse. Carlos mourns Angela's fall into darkness, believing that his healing powers wore off and failed to save her.
Powers and AbilitiesEdit
Powers
The White Tiger amulets augment Angela's strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility and reflexes to slightly superhuman levels, and also endow her with formidable martial arts skills. The amulets may also enhance Angela's recuperative powers, as they apparently did with Hector.

Abilities
Angela is a trained investigator, a good shot with firearms and an experienced unarmed combatant. The White Tiger wears three mystical, glowing jade amulets shaped like a tiger's head and paws, which enhance her physical abilities and endow her with phenomenal martial arts skills. When she becomes a covert operative of The Hand and subsequently a spy for the Snakeroot Clan, it is suggested that her athletic and fighting abilities are improved further as a result of rigorous training and demonic possession.

NotesEdit
- The White Tigers of the Ayala and Del Toro clans are unrelated to the High Evolutionary's White Tiger (an artificially evolved tiger-woman who voluntarily resumed her original animal form after a stint with Heroes for Hire) and urban vigilante Kevin "Kasper" Cole, alias White Tiger, an acolyte of the Panther Cult and a protégé of the Black Panther.
